  • John Mascari - Head Professional

    • John Mascari joined Alpine Country Club as our Head Professional in 2018. He is a widely accomplished, innovative, and highly motivated PGA Professional, with extensive and diverse knowledge in all facets of the golf operation. He focuses daily on providing excellent customer service, professionally run events, and a stellar golf experience.

To go along with his work at Alpine, John serves on the New Jersey PGA Board of Directors and has been a champion of growing the game of golf in our state and nationally for many years. He was named one of the Top 50 Junior Golf Instructors in America three times, and serves on numerous committee and advisory boards including the Callaway Golf Senior Advisory Council. He currently co-hosts a weekly golf talk show on ESPN Radio called “On The Tee”.

Although a native New Yorker, John lives in Glen Ridge, New Jersey with his wife and their two young children.

  • Joe Galan - PGA Professional
    • During his time at Penn State University, Joe embarked on his golf career starting from the ground up. He began as a bag attendant and quickly advanced into the golf shop as an assistant. After hours, in addition to working on his own game, he spent his free time observing and assisting lessons, clinics and golf schools taught by some of the finest instructors in the area. Joe earned his Class “A” membership in the PGA of America in 2001 and since has held numerous leadership positions at various clubs in Georgia, the Dominican Republic and New Jersey. He is also involved in the golf community, currently serving his third term on the New Jersey PGA’s Board of Directors and involved in fundraising for the New Jersey Golf Foundation by playing golf marathons, (100 plus holes in one day).

Joe's passion lies in helping others enjoy the game of golf and works hard to make sure his students are able to maximize their abilities. His philosophy is that everyone is different and it is the instructor's job to find the best approach for each individual based on the student's commitment and goals. Joe approaches the student teacher relationship more as a coach than just a one time, one hour lesson. He's committed to follow through and check-in with his student's ongoing performance as he shares in the interest of improvement.

In between lessons and after hours, you’ll find Joe honing his own game. He is always working to improve and enjoys competing. In June of 2016 Joe played in his first PGA Professional National Championship at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in upstate NY. For a club professional it is a great honor to qualify for this national championship field and he did so with an 8th place finish in the 2015 NJPGA Section Championship at the Ridge at Back Brook. He uses his on-course experiences, knowledge of the game, current technology and excellent communication skills to help players of all skill levels.
